Parliamentary motion welcomes Heritage Lottery award for St Mary’s Cathedral

A motion put forward by Tom Mason MSP has welcomed a Heritage Lottery Fund award of £74,600 for St Mary’s Cathedral, Aberdeen.

The Cathedral, built in 1860, has the only Catholic bell tower in Scotland. The grant funding will be used to renovate and restore the roof of the building.

The motion also wishes Bishop Hugh Gilbert and the Cathedral Church of St Mary’s “well for the future”.
