Toll the bells for the 8,894,355 innocents

Today marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Abortion Act 1967.

Since that date a total of 8,894,355 innocent children have lost their lives to abortion. This is accompanied by countless stories of pain and heartache for mothers, fathers and families. And the new legislation was supposed to protect.

The Catholic Bishops of Scotland and England & Wales earlier this week released a joint statement on abortion. It is worth reading and can be found here.

Please pray today for our country, that we will all appreciate the value of human life, from the moment of conception to natural death. If you are able, you are encouraged to toll your Church bells in memory of those who have lost their lives. ANd we are all invited to join a one minute silence at 11.04am which will be held outside the UK Parliament, where the Act was passed in 1967.

All life has value. Please pray for an end to abortion.
