Key abortion event in UK Parliament – please ask your MP to attend

CARE (Christian Action Research and Education) is asking people to contact their MPs about an important event taking place in the UK Parliament on Wednesday 18 July.

In recent weeks there have been calls from some MPs for Parliament to change the law on abortion in Northern Ireland.  As well as undermining the devolution settlement and the authority of Northern Ireland’s elected representatives, the proposals put forward would see abortion permitted under very broad criteria up to the point of viability.  Notably, the voices of Northern Irish women – those who will be impacted by such a change – have been missing from this debate.  On Wednesday 18 July, Fiona Bruce MP (pictured) will be hosting a group of Northern Irish women from across the political spectrum at an event in Parliament so that MPs can hear first-hand about the law in Northern Ireland and why it does not need to be changed.

Please help ensure that as many MPs as possible hear their message.  You can do this in just a couple of minutes using a dedicated email function which has been set up – just enter your postcode and, if you agree with the text which pops up, hit send!
