Anthony HoranDirector

| Anthony is Director of the Scottish Catholic Parliamentary Office, having been appointed to the role in 2016.
His primary role is to engage with politics on behalf of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, including monitoring and examining the work of both the Scottish and UK Parliaments and Scottish and UK Governments. Through his work Anthony regularly engages with elected representatives, government officials, ecumenical partners and other faith groups and stakeholders with shared interests. Anthony responds to government consultations and Parliamentary calls for evidence, and regularly reports to the Bishops of Scotland. He also hopes to encourage the Catholic laity to become more involved in politics and to build up knowledge and awareness of Catholic Social Teaching. Anthony is a qualified lawyer, having previously worked in criminal defence and corporate law, both in Glasgow. He has a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice and a LLB in Law from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Anthony is married and lives in Cumbernauld with his wife and four children. When not at work Anthony likes to spend time at home with his family, read books, hit the country roads for a run, and watch football.
