Scotland’s Bishops Visit Westminster

Earlier this week, all eight of Scotland’s Catholic bishops visited Westminster for a series of engagements; to enter dialogue and strengthen relationships with MPs and Peers from all parties, and to make representations on issues of concern for the Catholic Church in Scotland.

The bishops discussed cuts to Official Development Assistance, immigration, sectarianism, poverty and welfare cuts, among other issues during the visit, which included a meeting with the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Kirsty McNeill MP, and an open meeting with MPs and Peers, hosted by Frank McNally MP.

The bishops led the celebration Mass in the Chapel of St Mary-Undercroft and met with the Catholic Union to learn more about their work pursuing the common good across the UK.
